Four Different Goal Scorers Lead Falcons Past Stonehill 4-1

WALTHAM, Mass. – In the second night of a weekend series, Bentley completed the sweep of Stonehill with four different goal scorers in a 4-1 victory.

Senior Nicholas Grabko made the start in goal and earned the win. He made 18 saves on 19 shots for a .947 save percentage.

Ethan Leyh and Nik Armstrong-Kingkade each scored their first goals as Falcons in the win.

At the 6:33 mark of the first period, defenseman Nick Bochen blasted a power play goal from the top of the circle past Skyhawks' goaltender Dylan Meilun to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Leyh and Sam Duerr came up with the assists.

Stonehill responded quickly with a power play goal of their own from defender Greg Japchen at the 10:06 mark to tie the contest at 1-1.

With 2:19 left in the opening frame, Leyh executed a patient shot between the legs of Meulin for the 2-1 Falcon lead. Leyh's first as a Falcon came with assists from Garrett Horsager and Chase Davis.

After missing last season, Leyh has gotten off to a strong start in 2023-24 with four points in the first four games.

Early in the second period, Ethan Harrison capitalized on a Stonehill gaffe behind the net for a shorthanded goal, giving Bentley a two-goal cushion.

Bentley came out flying in the third, as Armstrong-Kingkade buried the rebound off a shot by Stephen Castagna just 47 seconds into the period to give the Falcons a 4-1 lead. Leyh tallied an assist on the play as well.

It was a big night for the Bentley captain Leyh, as he recorded three points as well as the game-winning goal. Bentley outshot the Skyhawks 45-18 in the contest, and had control for the majority of play.

The Falcons will look to keep the momentum going as they travel to Robert Morris Friday night, from Clearview Arena in Pittsburgh at 7:00 P.M.
