WALTHAM, Mass. – Niagara's Ryan Cox scored two first period goals to lead the Purple Eagles to a 6-0 victory over Bentley on Friday night.
The Falcons were playing their first Atlantic Hockey game of the season, while Niagara improved to 3-3-1 in AHA games.
Cox scored a power play goal just 42 seconds into the game, then scored off a deflection in front of the net at 15:55 of the period.
Casey Carreau scored a power play goal from the top of the left faceoff circle at 19:05 as Niagara led 3-0 at the first intermission.
Neither team scored in the second period. But Niagara tacked on a goal off the stick of Shane Ott at 2:16 of the 3rd, before two late goals for the visitors.
These same teams will play again on Saturday at 5:05 PM as Bentley will go for a series split.
