Three Different Goal Scorers Lead Bentley Past Lindenwood 3-1

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley had three different goal scorers and freshman netminder Connor Hasley (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) made 27 saves to earn a 3-1 victory over Lindenwood on Saturday.

Bentley got off to a great start as freshman Stephen Castagna (North Vancouver, B.C.) scored just 60 seconds into the game. Arlo Merritt (Halifax, Nova Scotia) fed a pass from the left wing to Josh Latta (West Vancouver, B.C.) in between the faceoff circles, who then quickly hit Castagna down the right for the goal, his second of the season.

Lindenwood tied the game at the 13:37 mark on a goal by Hunter Johannes. But just 2.4 seconds before the end of the period, Latta scored on the power play to put the Falcons back on top.

Matt Gosiewski (Stamford, Conn.) had the puck along the lefthand boards and slid a pass through the slot to Latta, who skated into the right faceoff circle and lifted a shot over the glove of Trent Burnham for the goal.

Neither team scored in the 2nd period as Bentley had a 11-7 edge in shots.

In the third period, junior Ethan Harrison's (Plano, Texas) 2nd goal of the series gave Bentley a two-goal cushion. Joe Winkelmann (St. Louis, Mo.) made a steal in the offensive zone off a Lindenwood clearing pass and he quickly fed Harrison in front of the net for goal.

Hasley made 14 saves in the 3rd period to help close out the win.

Bentley will now begin its Atlantic Hockey schedule next weekend when they host Niagara for two games.
