Kodsi Scores Twice but Bentley Falls to Lindenwood

WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Cole Kodsi (Boca Raton, Fla.) scored two goals but Bentley fell to Lindenwood 7-3 on Friday night at Bentley Arena.

The Falcons owned a 45-37 shots advantage but Lindenwood goalie Trent Burnham turned away 42 of them.

Kodsi had his second career multi-goal game with goals in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Junior center Ethan Harrison (Plano, Texas) scored in the first period for Bentley.

Lindenwood scored first off the stick of Aiden Yakimchuk and led 1-0 after the first period. But Harrison's goal 2:31 into the 2nd period tied the score.

Defenseman Nick Bochen (North Vancouver, B.C.) brought the puck into the offensive zone and dropped a centering pass to Harrison in between the faceoff circles. Just above the hashmarks, Harrison fired a shot that got past the glove of Burnham for the goal.

With Lindenwood then leading 4-1, Kodsi's power play goal at 12:19 cut the deficit to two. He tipped in a shot in front of the net, with the shot coming from defenseman Jordan Schulting (Penticton, B.C.) on the point.

Kodsi's second goal of the night at 3:53 of the 3rd period cut Lindenwood's lead to 4-3. Dylan Pitera (Culver, Indiana) dug the puck out along the boards below Burnham's goal and fed a pass to Kodsi just below the left faceoff circle. Kodsi's quick shot beat Burnham to light the lamp for a second time.

Lindenwood though stretched its lead to 5-3 with a goal at the 13:12 mark from Andy Willis, and an empty net goal by David Gagnon at 17:11 pushed the lead to 6-3.
