Bentley Drops Series Finale to Army West Point

West Point, N.Y. – Senior Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored his 5th goal of the season, but the Bentley University hockey team fell to Army West Point 5-1 on Saturday night in the finale of the home and home series between the two teams.

Hamblet's goal in the 2nd period came after he made a steal in Army's offensive zone to start a break down the other end of the ice on the right wing. Hamblet then played a pass into the corner for Brendan Walkom (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and then a short pass followed to Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario). Novak then spotted Hamblet open behind Army's net, and Hamblet scored with a quick wraparound shot to beat Army's goalie Trevin Kozlowski to the glove side.

That tied the game 1-1 with 11:32 left in the 2nd period.

Army though answered back just 29 seconds later as junior right winger Colin Bilek scored his 12th goal of the season to put the Black Knights back in front.

Army then added to its lead when sophomore forward Brett Abdelnour scored the first of his two goals of the night with 8:54 remaining in the 2nd period.

Abdelnour would add a power play goal for Army early in the 3rd period to finish the scoring.

Bentley's next scheduled game is set to be on Tuesday night when they visit Sacred Heart.
