Grabko Named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University's freshman goaltender Nicholas Grabko (Channahon, Ill.) was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Grabko started all three of Bentley's opening games to the 2020-21 season last week and put in a stellar performance in each of them.

In the season opener against Holy Cross on Dec. 1, his first college game, he made 26 saves in a game that went to overtime and Bentley was able to get a point out of.

Three days later on Dec. 4 he earned his first NCAA win with a 32 save effort to help the Falcons to a 4-2 victory over Army West Point. The following night he stopped 20 of 21 shots faced in a road game at Army and kept Bentley in it until the very end.

For the three games, Grabko posted a .940 save percentage and a 1.66 goals against average. Both of those numbers are in the top-three of Atlantic Hockey so far.

Grabko and the Falcons are next in action Wednesday night to visit Holy Cross at 6:00 pm. After that game, they next play again on Friday, Dec. 18 at home against American International.
