Army Wins Battle of Goalies Over Bentley, 2-0, For Series Split

West Point, N.Y. – Saturday night's series finale between Bentley University and Army West Point was a battle between the two goalies, but it was the Black Knights that emerged with a 2-0 victory over the Falcons for a series split at Tate Rink.

Army's sophomore goalie Justin Evenson made 24 saves to earn the win, and outduel Bentley's Nicholas Grabko (Channahon, Ill.) who stopped 20 of 21 shots faced.

In three games to start the season, and his Bentley career, Grabko has a .940 save percentage.

The teams were locked in a scoreless draw after two periods with Bentley having a 17-14 edge in shots and 4-4 on the penalty kill.

The 3rd period stayed scoreless past the 12 minute mark, until Army's Lincoln Hatten finally broke the deadlock with a goal after he gained control of the puck in the neutral zone and had a breakaway into the offensive end for the goal.

Army was then able to put the game away with an empty goal by center Eric Butte with 18 seconds remaining.

Bentley ended the game with a 24-22 edge in shots.

The Falcons (1-2-0), who won Friday night's series opener over Army 4-2, settle for the series split. They will be back in action on Wednesday night at Holy Cross.
