Bentley Picked 3rd in Atlantic Hockey Preseason Poll

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley University hockey team has been picked 3rd in the Atlantic Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Falcons received 75 points in the poll, just one point behind second place Sacred Heart.

Bentley returns four of its top five scorers from last season, led by junior forward Jakov Novak (30 points). Sophomore Matt Gosiewski (24 points), and seniors Luke Santerno (23 points) and Brendan Hamblet (22 points) are the Falcons' other top returning scorers.

Senior Charlie Marchand returns to lead Bentley's defenseman. Marchand has played in 98 games entering his senior season and has 26 career points. In goal, junior Fraser Kirk is the most experienced returnee with 13 career starts. Kirk was named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week twice last season.

The Falcons are set to open the 24-game season on Nov. 27 when they host Holy Cross at the Bentley Arena.
