Bentley Hockey Alum French to Continue Pro Career in Germany

Waltham, Mass. – 2017 Bentley University graduate Max French will continue his pro hockey career in Germany in the 2020-21 season.

French, who played in 138 games in four highly productive seasons at Bentley, recently resigned with the club EC Bad Tolz, in the German hockey league second division.

It will be French's second season with the club, and last season he was one of the Lions' top scorers with 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points.

Overall the 20-21 season will be French's fourth in professional hockey. His career has taken him to Denmark in the 2018-19 season, and both the ECHL with Idaho and the AHL with Texas in the 2017-18 season.

French, a native of West Kelowna, British Columbia, finished his Bentley career as one of the highest scoring players in the program's history. He is 5th all-time in career points with 143 (3rd most in Div. 1) and 4th all-time in career goals with 67 (3rd in Div. I). He is also 8th all-time in career assists with 76 (5th in Div. I).

He was a two-time, first team All-Atlantic Hockey selection in 2016 and 2017 and was a third team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2017. French was also named Bentley's Powers Scholar-Athlete Award winner in 2017 as Bentley's premier senior scholar-athlete.
