Pitera Claims Atlantic Hockey Rookie of Week Honors

Waltham, Mass. – Forward Dylan Pitera (Culver, Indiana) became the second Bentley University hockey player in as many weeks to claim Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week honors, it was announced on Tuesday.

Pitera follows teammate Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario), who earned the award last week from Atlantic Hockey.

The left winger had one goal and one assist this past weekend in the series against Sacred Heart. In Saturday's come from behind 3-2 overtime win, he scored Bentley's first goal of the night, at 2:35 of the 2nd period, to get the rally started. He also had the primary assist on Luke Santerno's goal in Friday's game, which came just 1:16 into the 1st period.

Pitera has played in all seven games so far this season, and has two goals and two assists and is a +3.

He and the Falcons are on the road this weekend as they travel out to Air Force for games at 9:05 pm on Friday and 9:35 on Saturday.
