Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University's Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Novak had two power play goals in Bentley's 7-4 win over rival Holy Cross last Friday night at Bentley Arena. The goals came just 1:56 apart late in the 2^nd period, and gave Bentley leads of 5-3 and 6-4. He also won 15-24 face-offs.

A draft pick of the NHL's Ottawa Senators back in June, Novak has gotten his Bentley career off to a strong start, skating on the team's top two lines and seeing a lot of time on the power play.

He and the Falcons are back at Bentley Arena this weekend for a series against Sacred Heart. Friday's game is at 7:05 and Saturday's at 6:05.
