Pelino Named to Mike Richter Award Watch List

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) has been named to the Mike Richter Award watch list, which is awarded at the end of the season to the most outstanding goaltender in Division I men's hockey.

Pelino was one of just 20 goaltenders named to the preseason watch list for the Richter Award, which is in its fifth season. He is one of just two goalies from Atlantic Hockey named, with Robert Morris' Francis Marotte the other. The award is administered by Let's Play Hockey and the Herb Brooks Foundation.

Pelino had a strong freshman season for the Falcons. In 17 appearances (13 starts), he posted a .930 save percentage and a 2.42 goals against average. Those numbers were 4th and 5th best in Atlantic Hockey, respectively, among qualified goaltenders.

He was twice named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week in his rookie season.

Pelino and the Falcons get their season started on Oct. 10 at home against AIC at 7:05 pm.
