Pelino Selected Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario/Chilliwack) has been selected as the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week after his standout performances for the Falcons against Robert Morris last weekend.

Pelino guided the Falcons to a win and tie over the Colonials on the road for a three point weekend.

In Friday's 3-0 win, he posted his first career shutout and the first shutout by a Bentley goalie this season, by making 28 saves. In Saturday's 1-1 tie, he extended his shutout streak to five periods and ended the night with 32 saves. In total, Pelino posted a .984 save percentage by stopping 60 of 61 shots faced.

Pelino is 6th Bentley player to earn a weekly Atlantic Hockey award this season. He joined teammates Alexey Solovyev (Defensive Player of the Week), Ryner Gorowsky (Rookie of the Week, twice), Brett Orr (Defensive Player of the Week, twice), Kyle Schmidt (Player of the Week, twice) and Jonathan Desbiens (Rookie of the Week).

The results last weekend lifted Bentley's AHC record to 9-10-5 for 23 points. That puts them in 8th place in the standings, just three points out of the top-five. The team is back on the ice on Friday when they host Sacred Heart at the JAR.
