Desbiens & Orr Earn Atlantic Hockey Weekly Awards

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshmen Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec/West Kelowna) and Brett Orr (Elkhorn, Manitoba/Portage) have both earned weekly awards from Atlantic Hockey for their efforts in Bentley's sweep of RIT. Desbiens was named Rookie of the Week, and Orr the Defensive Player of the Week.

Desbiens had four goals in the two games. His hat trick in Saturday's 6-3 victory helped the Falcons complete the sweep, and was the first hat trick by a Bentley player this season. Desbiens had a goal in each period, and his goal at 12:27 of the 3rd period completed the hat trick and gave Bentley a 5-3 lead to help secure the win. In Friday's 3-2 win in the series opener, he scored a power play goal at 14:36 of the 1st period to give Bentley the game's first goal.

Orr is the Defensive Player of the Week for 2nd time in four weeks. He had four assists in the RIT series, with two in each game. On Friday, he set up Desbiens' power play goal with a long pass from the defensive zone, and also assisted on Drew Callin's game-winning goal in the 3rd period, which broke a 2-2 tie. Orr had two more assists on Saturday, and now has 12 assists in the last eight games. He was previously named Defensive Player of the Week on Jan. 10 after he notched four assists in the Army West Point series.

Bentley gets back on the ice on Friday night when they host Air Force to open a weekend series.
