French, Solovyev to Participate in Upcoming NHL Development Camps

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley teammates Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) and Alexey Solovyev (Moscow, Russia/Lone Star) will participate in NHL Development Camps next week. French, a senior forward, will be with the Arizona Coyotes, while Solovyev, a sophomore defenseman, will be with the Dallas Stars.

The Development Camps consist of draft picks from the NHL clubs, plus undrafted players from the college, junior or international ranks that the teams want to take a closer look at.

The Coyotes' camp will take place from July 4-July 8 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, while the Stars will be setup at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Frisco from July 5-July 9.

French starred for Bentley during his junior season in 2015-16. He finished 4th in Division I in points per game (1.47), ranked 3rd in Atlantic Hockey in both goals (23) and points (47) and 8th in assists (24). He was named a first team All-Atlantic Hockey forward. As a freshman defenseman Solovyev played in 30 games, registering four points and 15 blocked shots.

The duo follow in the footsteps of Bentley players who have participated in NHL Development Camps in the past, including Alex Grieve (New York Islanders), Andrew Gladiuk (Vancouver Canucks) and Branden Komm (Ottawa Senators).
