WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University has placed 16 student-athletes on the 2014-15 Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team, the conference announced Monday. Recent graduate Brett Switzer (Calgary, Alberta) earned his fourth straight selection to top the list.

To qualify for the All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each semester during the hockey season.

Four Falcons, all set to become seniors, are making their third straight appearance on the All-Academic team; forwards Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo Clippers) and Tyler Krause (Kelowna, B.C./Okotoks Oilers), defenseman Matt Blomquist (Blaine, Minn./Coulee Region Chill), and goaltender Gabe Antoni (Lansdale, Pa./Springfield Jr. Blues).

Earning their second All-Academic selections are forwards Derek Bacon (Calgary, Alberta/Okotoks Oilers), set to become a senior, Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna Warriors) and Tyler Deresky (Flemington, N.J./Amarillo Bulls), set to become juniors, and defenseman Mike Berry (Edmonton, Alberta/Sherwood Park Crusaders), who is to become a junior as well.

Seven Bentley players earned their first All-Academic recognition, highlighted by recent graduates Steve Weinstein (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Matt Maher (Avon, Conn.). Defensemen Billy Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass./Chicago Steel) and Charlie Donners (Norwood, Mass./Dexter) notched their first selection to the team, as did forwards Andrew McDonald (New Brighton, Minn./Fargo Force) and Ryan McMurphy (Broken Arrow, Okla./Tri-City) and goaltender Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitoba/Nanaimo).
