Grieve Signs with ECHL’s Quad City Mallards

WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Bentley hockey captain Alex Grieve has signed with the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL, the team announced Thursday.

Grieve starred for the Falcons in his four year career and helped the team to 64 total wins during his time in a Falcons uniform. He finished his career fifth in school history in points (128), tied for 10th in goals and ninth in assists. During the 2013-14 season, he set a program Division I single-season record with 25 goals and finished sixth in the nation in goals.

In addition to serving as team captain this year, Grieve was named second team All-Atlantic Hockey for the 2013-14 season. As a freshman, he was voted the 2011-12 Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Year.

Grieve joins a Quad City team that is currently in second place in the ECHL's Central Division. The team's next game is Friday night against Rapid City.
