Argue, Blomquist Collect Atlantic Hockey Weekly Awards

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley freshman Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitoba/Nanaimo) and junior Matt Blomquist (Blaine, Minn./Coulee Region) each collected Travel Team USA weekly Atlantic Hockey awards on Tuesday. Argue was named Goalie of the Week and Blomquist was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Both contributed to a Bentley defensive effort that saw the Falcons allow just two goals total in its sweep of Air Force over the weekend, winning games by scores of 2-1 and 4-1.

Argue, the Co-Rookie of the Week last week, started both games in net. He stopped 58 of 60 shots faced over the two games, making 33 saves on Friday and 25 on Saturday. In the four games he's started since returning from injury, Argue is 3-1 with a .947 save percentage and 1.51 goals against average. He's allowed just six goals total in his four outings so far.

Blomquist blocked a total of four shots in the Air Force series and was +2 for the weekend. He also got involved in the offense, claiming the secondary assist on Andrew Gladiuk's (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) eventual game-winning goal in the third period on Friday.

Bentley is now 6-4-1 in Atlantic Hockey play and has won three of its last four. They close out the first half of the season this weekend at AIC in a series beginning Saturday night.
