Bentley Selected for NCAA East/Atlantic Golf Regional for 12th time in 13 Seasons

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the 12th time in the last 13 seasons, the field for the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Men's Golf Regional will include the Bentley University Falcons. The Falcons have been tabbed as a team every year since 2010, with the exception of 2020 when the pandemic forced cancellation of the championships, and last year, when Bentley was represented by two individuals.

The East and Atlantic regional championships will be held jointly at the Oglebay Golf Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia May 9-11. The top five teams from each super regional and the top two individuals not with a qualifying team will advance to the finals May 21-25, at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida.

Bentley, in Brian Bain's second season at the helm, was one of eight at-large selections and was the number nine seed from the East Region following a season that included fourth-place finishes in the Granite State Invitational and the Saint Anselm Hawk Invitational. The Falcons also tied for fifth in the Northeast-10 Championships last fall.

The automatic qualifiers in the East Region were Adelphi University, as the Northeast-10 Conference champion, and Goldey-Beacom College, from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

The other at-large selections from the East were Assumption University, Dominican University (N.Y.), Franklin Pierce University, Post University, Saint Anselm College, top-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas College and Southern New Hampshire University.

Six of the teams are from the Northeast-10 Conference, two are from the CACC and two will represent the East Coast Conference.

The ten teams out of the Atlantic Region include top-seeded University of Charleston (Mountain East) and automatic qualifiers Millersville University (Pennsylvania State University), Virginia Union University (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Davis & Elkins (Mountain East University).

The NCAA berth is Bentley's 17th in the last 22 years.
