Walter Ties for 3rd in Eagles Invitational; Bentley Finishes 5th

WATERTOWN, Conn. – Bentley University senior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) tied for third in Post University's Eagles Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the Watertown Golf Club.

It was the highest finish of his career for Walter, who was the co-leader after the first two rounds. He shot a final round 73 Tuesday and finished one-under par with a 68-71-73-212. Walter trailed medalist Nicholas Bove of Le Moyne by three strokes and runner-up Bill Koch of Post by one stroke.

Walter, who had 11 birdies during the tournament, eagled the par-five, 478-yard first hole during the final round.

As a team, Bentley placed fifth among 14 teams, with a 295-298-301-894. The Falcons trailed Le Moyne (876), Post (876), St. Thomas Aquinas (884) and Assumption (892).

Bentley's number two man, sophomore Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS), tied for 19th with a 74-74-75-223. His 38 pars during the 54-hole event was tied for the second most.

Also for the Falcons, senior Kevin Lynch (Haddam, Conn./Xavier HS) was tied for 29th (77-73-77-227).

This was the final tournament of the fall season for the Falcons.
