Berg Finishes 3rd in Saint Rose Fall Invitational

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – Sophomore Bennett Berg (Portland, Maine/Portland HS) led the Bentley University golf team with a third-place finish in The College of Saint Rose Fall Invitational, which concluded at the Pinehaven Golf Club on Saturday.

Berg, in his first tournament of the season, shot a second-round 78 for a two-day score of 150. He trailed Assumption University's Jack Moy, the tournament medalist with a 72-74-146, and Adelphi University's Filip Wetterqvist, who turned in a 70-78-148.

Bentley's number two man was freshman Daniel Olaya (Madrid, Spain), who tied for 19th with a 77-83-160.

A stroke back, in a tie for 22nd, were sophomore Tyler Brown (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Reg. HS) and freshman James Davignon II (Medfield, Mass./Medfield HS).  During the second round, Davignon posted a 77 and Brown an 80.

As a team, Bentley finished in the middle of the seven-team field with a 309-318-627. Adelphi and Assumption tied for first, both with a two-day score of 63.

Bentley will wrap up the fall season Monday and Tuesday at the Post Fall Invitational.
