Berg Leads Bentley During Day 1 of Saint Rose Fall Invitational

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – In his first action of the season, Bentley University sophomore Bennett Berg (Portland, Maine/Portland HS) finished the first day of the Saint Rose Fall Invitational in a three-way tie for second place with a one-over 72 on the 6,496-yard Pinehaven Golf Course Friday.

Berg, who will be one stroke back of Adelphi University's Filip Wetterquist when play resumes on Saturday, had five birdies, including four on the back nine.

Also for Bentley, freshman Daniel Olaya (Madrid Spain) shot a 77 in his collegiate debut and junior Aidan Stuart (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) turned in a 79. They are tied for 13th and 19th, respectively, in the 40-player tournament.

In the seven-team tournament, Bentley finished the day in third place with a score of 309. The Falcons trail Adelphi by nine and Assumption by a single stroke.
