GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Freshman Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS) was Bentley University's top golfer during the first two rounds of The Trojan at the Walnut Creek Country Club Monday.

Desjardins finished the day tied for 29^th in a field of 65 after turning in a 36-hole score of 151. He had a two-over 74 during the opening round and a 77 in the afternoon. His day included six birdies, including two on the par-four, 410-yard 18^th.

Bentley's number two man was junior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS), who is tied for 36^th with a 72-81-153. He was outstanding during the first round with seven birdies. He birdied ten of the 36 holes, second most among all players.

Among the 11 teams, Bentley finished the day in tenth place with a 303-323-626. Only three of the 11 had a better second round than first.

Flagler College (Fla.) had an outstanding day at eight under and leads second-place Barton College, 568-576. The individual leader is Flagler's Mauro Baez at seven-under (66-71-137).

Tuesday's final round will get underway at 8:30 am.
