Walter & Daly Help Bentley Golf Finish 5th in NE10 Championships

CONCORD, N.H. – Led by junior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and senior Ryan Daly (Beverly, Mass./Beverly HS), the Bentley University Falcons finished fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Golf Championships, which concluded Wednesday at the Concord Country Club.

Bentley improved on its day one score by four strokes and climbed two places in the standings with a 304-300-604. The team championship went to Assumption University, with its 289-290-579 giving the Greyhounds a 15-stroke winning margin over second place Le Moyne College. A total of ten teams participated in the championships.

Daly, one of the team's captains, had the Falcons' best second-round score, a three-over 73. He climbed nine places in the standings and finished in a tie for 13th with a 76-73-149.

Walter was Bentley's top finisher in the 50-player championships, tying for tenth with a 73-75-148.

Junior Kevin Lynch (Haddam, Conn./Xavier HS) also had a solid performance for Bentley, tying for 22nd with a 75-77-152. Senior Matt Mackin (Westwood, Mass./Westwood HS) finished the tournament strong with a second-round 75 and tied for 28th with an 80-75-155.

Southern New Hampshire's Jess Liss was the tournament medalist with his 68-73-141 three strokes better than runner-up Sean Magarian (Assumption).

Bentley returns to action Friday at the two-day Saint Rose Fall Shootout.
