WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons will be one of 16 teams that will be teeing off Thursday when the 2021 NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional gets underway at the Lake View Country Club in North East, Pa.

The top four teams from the three-day, 54-hole tournament, and top individual not on one of those teams, will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships, which will be held May 17-21 at the PGA National Resort, the Champions Course, in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Bentley, competing in a tenth straight NCAA regional under the leadership of coach Mickey Herron, will be looking for a second straight trip to the nationals. Back in 2019, the Falcons punched their ticket by placing second of 20 in the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional.

Two players from that team will be among the five golfers who will be representing Bentley this this time around, co-captains Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) and Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS).

Joining them and competing in their first regional tournament will be juniors Rysn Daly (Beverly/Beverly HS) and Matt Mackin (Westwood/Westwood HS), along with sophomore Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS).

Ethier, Bentley's Outstanding Senior Athlete, is Bentley's number one golfer for the third straight year. The senior owns the lowest career stroke average in program history and has a 73.3 average in 11 rounds this spring.

Yoder, a graduate student who earned the Northeast-10's Elite 24 Award for men's golf, and Mackin each have a 76.5 stroke average this season, tying for second on the team. Walter has a 79.0 for five rounds and Daly owns a 79.6.

Bentley is one of only two East Region teams which will be competing in a tenth straight regional, an honor it shares with St. Thomas Aquinas College.
