Ethier Breaks Par Again; Bentley Finishes 6th in Closely-Contested Le Moyne Invitational

CICERO, N.Y. – Bentley University junior Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) completed his fall season with his fourth straight one-under-par round Saturday during the final day of the Le Moyne Fall Invitational at the Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club.

Ethier used five birds to shoot a second straight 71 and finished the tournament with a two-under 142. One of eight players in a field of 90 to break par, he tied for seventh place and was two strokes back of tournament medalist AJ Sanzaro Jr. of Assumption (70-70-140).

The team competition was just as close with the top six separated by four strokes. Bentley, with a 296-294-590, finished in sixth place despite being only four strokes off the pace. Assumption and Laval University tied for the championship, with a 586, and Concordia College (N.Y.), Le Moyne College and Southern New Hampshire were in a three-way deadlock for third at 589. A total of 15 teams competed in the two-day event.

Bentley's number two golfer was junior Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS), who tied for 15th. His second-round 73 gave him a 148 total.

Also for the Falcons, freshman Santiago Urrutia Ruiz (Guatemala City, Guatemala) tied for 23rd with a 76-73-149 and sophomore Ryan Daly (Beverly, Mass./Beverly HS) tied for 27th (73-77-150). Urrutia Ruiz parred 30 of the 36 holes, most of any player.
