Three Bentley Falcons Earn All-America Scholar Honors from the GCAA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the 2017-18 Bentley University golf team were named to Division II Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The honorees were recent graduates Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS) and Brett Chatfield (Attleboro/Bishop Feehan HS), along with rising senior Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Sutherland HS). All three were previously named to the Academic All-Northeast-10 golf team with Meyers recognized with the conference's Sport Excellence Award for golf.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.

Meyers, an All-America Scholar for the second straight year, was selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Year after posting the East Region's fourth best stroke average, 74.0. He was the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Division II champion and also took first in the St. Thomas Aquinas Invitational.

Chatfield closed out his career with a 77.2 stroke average with 37 birdies during 15 rounds. His highest finish came in the year's opening tournament last September when he was 15th with a 76-72-148 in the Ryan Lee Memorial.

Kulikowski finished his junior year with a 77.3 stroke average. He had three top-ten finishes, including fourth in the Ryan Lee Memorial (70-73-143) and fifth in the Saint Rose Fall Shootout (72-74-146).
