Bentley Set to Tee It Up Early Monday as NCAA Div. II East/Atlantic Regional Gets Underway

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University men's golf team will be one of the first six to tee off Monday morning when the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Golf Regional gets underway at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.V. Tee times range from 7:30 am to 8:10.

Coach Mickey Herron, who saw his team qualify for the seventh straight year, will go with a lineup of three juniors and two sophomores during the three-day event. The juniors are Cal Meyers (Richfield, Wisc./Slinger HS), Brett Chatfield (Attleboro/Bishop Feehan HS) and Chris Ehl (Reading/Reading HS) while the sophomores are Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) and Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS).

Ehl will be making his first trip to the NCAAs, but the other four all have competed in the regional previously. Meyers and Chatfield will be making their third straight appearance while Kulikowski and Simione were also part of last year's squad that finished 13th.

Meyers, who tied for 10th in the 2016 regional tournament with a 74-74-76-224, was Bentley's top golfer this season with a 75.4 stroke average.

The other four who'll be representing the Falcons were all within three-tenths of a point of 78. Kulikowski and Chatfield were just under that mark while Simione and Ehl were just over.

The top three teams from the 20-team tournament will advance to the NCAA Championships, along with the top two individuals not on a qualifying team.
