Brunone Tops Leaderboard Following Day 1 of AIC Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Following a two-over-par 73 Sunday, Bentley University junior Jimmy Brunone (Plymouth/Tabor Academy) is at the top of the leaderboard after day one of the American International College Invitational. The tournament will conclude Monday with a 10 am shotgun start.

Brunone, after his best round as a collegian, will enter the second round with a one-stroke advantage over both Nick Kelapaire (Adelphi) and Zach James (AIC).

In the team standings, Bentley is tied for second with the host institution, both of whom posted a 309 score. Assumption College leads the five-team event by two strokes following a 307.

Also in the top ten for the Falcons are freshman Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./ Cumberland Valley HS) and junior Chris Eskierski (Greenwich, Conn./Iona Prep). Falconer is tied for fifth after a 41-36-77 and Eskierski (40-38-78) is in a five-way tie for eighth.
