Oliver Receives 8th NE-10 Golfer of the Week Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the fifth time during his senior year and the eighth time in his career, Bentley University's Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy) has been named the Golfer of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference. This time, he shared the honor with Le Moyne College's John Clare.

Oliver earned the honor after placing first in the Bentley Newport Classic on April 13 with an even-par 72.  He won his fourth tournament of the year, and sixth of his career, by a single shot over Kevin Scott of UMass-Lowell. It was his eighth top-five finish in his last nine tournaments.

Oliver leads Bentley with a 73.3 stroke average, a school-record and the second best in the NCAA Division II East Region.  The two-time New England Intercollegiate Golf Association champion has shot 74 or better in each of his last six rounds for the Falcons, who are ranked fifth in the East.

Oliver's career average stands at 75.7, best in program history.

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll also included Bentley senior Tom Freeman (Maywood, N.J./Bergen County Academies). In his first tournament action of the season, Freeman tied for fourth place in the Bentley Newport Classic with a three-over 75 at the Newport National Golf Club.
