Ping All-Region Honors for Stoddard & Oliver

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University golfers Jon Stoddard (Duxbury/Duxbury HS) and Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy) have been named to the 2015 Division II PING All-East Region team, by the Golf Coaches Association of America for their outstanding play during the past season.

Stoddard, who recently completed his senior season, received the honor for the second straight year while Oliver, a rising senior, was a first-time honoree.

Oliver led the Falcons with a 75.8 stroke average, four-tenths of a point better than Stoddard. Both had a season-best round of 70 with Oliver putting up that score three times and Stoddard once.

Oliver won two tournaments over the course of the year, the season-opening Joe Plante Collegiate Invitational (74-71-145) in September and the New England Intercollegiates (70-73-143) in late October.  He was also third in the Northeast-10 Championships to earn All-Conference recognition.

Stoddard's best showing was a second in the Plante tournament with a 76-70-146. He tied for fifth in the NE-10's to join Oliver on the All-Conference team and also tied for fifth in the New Englands.

Bentley, which made a fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional, finished in the top three in nine of 12 tournaments during year with coach Mickey Herron's team winning the Northeast-10 Championships and the Division II title at the New Englands.
