Bentley in 3rd Place at Midpoint of NE-10 Golf; McQueen Tied for 1st

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – If Bentley University is going to successfully defend the Northeast-10 Conference Golf Championship, the Falcons will have to overtake both UMass-Lowell and Adelphi University when the tournament concludes on Monday at the par-72 En-Joie Golf Course.

Bentley will enter the final round five strokes off the pace after turning in a 306 in the rain on Sunday. UMass-Lowell, following a 301, sits atop the leaderboard at 301, and Adelphi is one stroke better than the Falcons.

Senior co-captain Dan McQueen (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Reg. HS) certainly did his job, with his opening round one-over 73 good for a three-way tie for first, with Ryan Snouffer of Adelphi and Ramon Ventura of American International.

Bentley also received solid efforts from senior co-captain Matt Michel (Danvers, Mass./ Danvers HS) and junior Harry Kirkpatrick (Lancaster, Mass./Nashoba Reg. HS). Michel's 75 put him in a tie for seventh place, and Kirkpatrick is tied for 18th following a 78.

The Falcons' number four man was freshman Malcolm Oliver (Damariscotta, Maine/Lincoln Academy), who turned in an 80 in his collegiate debut.
