Strong First Day for Bentley at Le Moyne Mike Bello Invitational
ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- The Bentley University golf team turned in a solid performance Friday during the opening day of play at the Mike Bello Invitational, hosted by Le Moyne College at the En-Joie Golf Club.
Bentley had a score of 304, putting the Falcons in second place, five strokes back of first-place Le Moyne. Over a dozen schools are competing, with the top four also including conference rivals American International and UMass-Lowell.
The Falcons' top four all shot 77 or better with junior Richie Powers (Leominster. Mass./ Leominster HS) leading the way with a 75. Seniors Nick Mini (Danvers, Mass./St. John's Prep) and Alex Macielak (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs HS) both were a stroke back of Powers, and junior Nick Clarke (Plymouth, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) turned in a 77.
The tournament concludes with second-round action on Saturday.
