2008 graduate of Leominster High School … undecided about his major … 2009-10: saw action in the team’s final seven tournaments and recorded an 80.4 stroke average for 12 rounds … shot in the 70s in half of those rounds, with a low of 76 on Apr. 3 in the second round of the Yale Spring Opener and again four days later in the Lou Flumere Invitational at the Stow Acres CC … was Bentley’s number one finisher in the Flumere, tying for fifth overall in the 18-hole tournament … tied for 12th in the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational (78-79-157) … 2008-09: played three rounds and recorded an 85.3 stroke average … shot a season-best 80 in his collegiate debut in the Assumption Shootout Sept. 16 at Cyprian Keyes CC … Before Bentley: three-time team MVP at Leominster HS, winning the honor in 2005, 2006 and 2007 … two-year captain  and 2007 league MVP … Duke Open champion … won 2007 District Championship with a one-under 70 at Oak Hill … helped Leominster to league championship in 2004, 2006 and 2007, and state finals in 2005 and 2006 … National Honor Society … Personal: son of Richard and Jane Powers … age as of Sept. 1: 20.
