WALTHAM, Mass. – Graduate guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO HS) scored 23 points, including 16 in the second half, and senior guard Mason Webb (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness HS) added 21 as Bentley University, ranked 18th nationally in Division II, posted an 87-73 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference men's basketball Thursday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, 13-2 in its last 15 games with both blemishes one-pointers, improved to 15-3 overall and 10-3 conference, good for first place in the Northeast Division. Stonehill fell to 11-9, including 7-7 NE10.

Deadlocked at 44 apiece at the half, Bentley came out strong when play resumed with the first four points coming on second-chance opportunities. Lawrence scored the opening bucket, giving the Falcons a lead they would not surrender, and Webb followed with the next basket.

Those four ignited a 19-7 run which made it a 63-51 game six minutes into the second. Five different players contributed scoring during that stretch with Lawrence scoring six and graduate guard Jordan Mello-Klein (Sharon/Thayer Academy) five.

The Skyhawks never got closer than ten the rest of the way and the Bentley lead peaked at 17 three times, the first on a Mello-Klein fastbreak layup with 10:38 remaining.

Bentley, which fell behind 11-2 early, used a 9-2 run to take its first lead of the night, 31-30, with 5:57 left in the opening half. Mello-Klein, with a driving layup, had the go-ahead basket.

Stonehill fifth-year guard Owen Chose capped off an 18-point first half by hitting a three with 19 seconds left, creating the 44-all tie.

Lawrence made half of his shots, 10 of 20 with three treys, and also came up with two steals. Webb, who also had four rebounds and four assists, was 8 of 15 from the field with two triples.

Sophomore guard Zach Laput (Beacon Falls, Conn./Notre Dame HS) added 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Mello-Klein's line included 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Chose (20) and senior guard Isaiah Burnett (Annapolis, Md.) (18) were the top scorers for Stonehill, with Burnett seven of eight from the floor.
