Hudson Recognized as NE10 Defensive Player of Year & 1st-Team All-Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – After a standout senior year, Bentley University forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/ Williston Northampton School) has been named the Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year in the Northeast-10 Conference as well as a first-team All-Conference selection.

Hudson is only the second Falcon to receive Defensive Player honors, following Rudy Hall in 1996-97. It's only the fourth time in the last 20 years that an NE10 men's basketball player has been selected as the top defensive player while also receiving first-team accolades,

Hudson finished the season with averages of 19 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals while playing over 36 minutes a game for the Falcons. He shot .566 from the field and connected at a .750 clip from the free throw stripe.

Hudson is the only player in the NCAA Division II East Region with at least 40 steals and 40 blocks, and only the fourth NE10 player in the last nine years to reach both those marks.

This season, the six-foot-five Hudson ranks first in the NE10 in blocks, second in field goal percentage and total minutes, third in average minutes, fourth in steals and free throw percentage, fifth in scoring, sixth in offensive rebounds and tenth in rebounds per game.

Hudson finished his career with 1,428 points, 21st in program history, and with 685 rebounds, 20th all-time. In addition, his 84 blocks has been bettered only four times by a Falcon.

Bentley finished the season at 17-12 and had an aggregate record of 73-43 during Hudson's four seasons.
