Richmond Recognized as NE10 Player of the Week for the 3rd Time

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the third time this season and the second time in the last four weeks, Bentley University senior guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate) has been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Richmond put up his third and fourth 30-point games of the season as he averaged 33 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a pair of conference wins. He shot 47 percent overall, made five three-pointers and was a perfect 17-of-17 at the foul stripe.

On Wednesday, he scored 35, including 25 in the second half, and grabbed nine rebounds against Stonehill. He followed that with 31, including the game-winning basket with 35 seconds left, at Assumption.

Richmond leads the Northeast-10 in scoring with a 23.8 average, which is on pace to break the school record 23.6 he posted a year ago. He is also number one in the conference in field goals, second in both minutes and free throws and third in free throw percentage.

Over the last seven games, Richmond has averaged close to 30 points with 30 or more four times.

For his career, the 2018 NABC All-East Region honoree and number four scorer in program history is 39 points away from 2,000. He is also second in Bentley history in scoring average (19.2) and free throws (449), third in free throw attempts (533), and fourth in both field goals attempted (1408) and free throw percentage (.842).

Bentley, 17-6 overall and 10-6 NE10, will play a pair of home games this week, taking on Southern New Hampshire Wednesday and Saint Anselm Saturday.
