WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore forward Chris Hudson (Hodgdon, Maine/Williston Northampton School) scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting and junior guard Ryan Richmond (Toronto, Ont./Thomson Collegiate HS) followed with 23, helping Bentley University cruise to a 112-65 win over Concordia University (N.Y.) in the final game of the season-opening Bentley Tip-Off Classic Sunday night at the Dana Center.

The 112 points was the most for the Falcons since a 116-78 win over Southern Connecticut State in February 2004. It came on the heels of a 103-54 win over Georgian Court Saturday night with Bentley reaching the century mark in consecutive games for the first time since 1995.

Following a 2-2 tie, Bentley embarked on a 27-9 run to open a 29-11 lead with 11:47 left in the first half. At that juncture, coach Jay Lawson's club was a sizzling 10 of 12 from the floor with Hudson leading the way with eight points.

The Falcons remained red hot throughout the first half, taking a 63-39 lead to the locker room after making 24 of 33 overall (.727) and 8 of 16 three-pointers. Richmond had 19 first-half points on 7-of-9 shooting, Hudson was 7-of-8 for 16 points and freshman guard Jordan Mello-Klein (Sharon/ Thayer Academy) had amassed 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.

A 17-5 burst over the first 5:17 of the second half extended the lead to 80-43, and the differential eventually peaked at 52, 112-60, on a three-ball from senior forward Nick Burton (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) with 1:45 to play.

Hudson, who knocked down three of his four attempts from downtown, also claimed eight rebounds, including four offense. Richmond complemented his 23 with five rebounds and four assists. Mello-Klein was on target for six of his eight shots and provided 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 26 turnover-free minutes.

Bentley also received 13 points off the bench from freshman guard Colton Lawrence (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO HS).

For the game, Bentley outshot the 1-1 Clippers 57-42 percent and made nearly three times as many three-pointers, 14-5. The Falcons were a plus 14 on the boards, 44-30, and finished with a 25-9 advantage in points off turnovers.

Bentley will complete its three-game season-opening homestand on Wednesday when it hosts Stonehill College in its Northeast-10 opener (7:30 pm).
