Falcons Soar Past Franklin Pierce 7-0 Behind Seven Different Goal Scorers

WALTHAM, Mass. – Field hockey soared past Franklin Pierce 7-0 on Tuesday night behind seven different goal scorers.

The seven goals are the most Bentley scored in a game since Oct. 12, 2018 against New Haven.

Madison Halas and Stephanie Drapas each had one goal and one assist for the Falcons, who have won three straight. They improved their records to 12-6 overall and 10-3 NE10.

Britney Pearson got the scoring started just 45 seconds into the game after she redirected a pass from the circle by Drapas.

Halas made it 2-0 with 5:18 left in the first quarter with her fourth goal of the season. Gracie Moore assisted after she slid pass under the FPU goalie and Halas finished it off from close range.

Bentley then scored three times in the second quarter.

Lida Coco's fourth of the season came 1:54 into the quarter after she finished off a break down the field and took a pass from Katie Thies from the right.

Freshman Isabella Tuccio scored her first career goal with 7:23 left in the corner with a long-range shot from just inside the arc. Emma Donahue then made it 5-0 at the 2:00 mark.

After no goals in the 3rd quarter Bentley scored twice more in the final frame. Amy Pasquale scored on a penalty stroke and Drapas scored with 2:27 remaining after she took a centering pass from Hannah Blomquist and finished at the far post.

Erin McGuinness earned the win, her third of the season.

The win sets up the regular season finale with Pace on Friday that could decide which team hosts a playoff game next week.
