Field Hockey Drops 2-0 Decision to Assumption

WORCESTER, Mass. – Two of the top teams in the NE10 standings met on Saturday afternoon, but it was Assumption that came away with a 2-0 victory over Bentley on Saturday.

The Greyhounds maintained their unbeaten NE10 record at 9-0, while the Falcons dropped to 6-3. This was the second meeting of the season between the teams. Bentley won the first game 3-2 in non-conference on Sept. 14.

Assumption jumped out to an early lead with a goal by May van Woudenberg 7:40 into the game.

The scored stayed 1-0 until the final minutes when a goal by Lily Daly sealed it.

Bentley's Erin McGuinness made eight saves on the day and her counterpart Paige Gillette stopped four Bentley shots.

The Falcons will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday night when they host Southern Connecticut.
