Coco nets game-winner in OT thriller at New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Lida Coco scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Bentley field hockey team a thrilling 3-2 conference win at New Haven Saturday night.

Bentley's defense forced the Chargers into a turnover, and Gracie Moore turned around and sprinted up the right side of the field with the ball. With Coco sprinting up the left side, the Falcons had a two-on-one opportunity.

Moore delivered a smooth pass to Coco, and the junior from Litchfield, Conn. Buried the game-winner.

The came would not have reached overtime were it not for a clutch goal by Katie Thies late in the fourth quarter.

Libby Harrison scored in the first quarter for Bentley.

The Falcons return home to host American International Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m.
