Bentley field hockey huddle

No. 8 Saint Anselm Blanks Bentley, 2-0

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Junior midfielder Joanna Archambault (Andover) scored the game's only two goals in the third period, helping eighth-ranked Saint Anselm College to a 2-0 win over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey at Grappone Stadium late Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks, who were held without a shot in the first half by the Bentley D, got on the scoreboard just 31 seconds after play resumed following the halftime break. Archambault took a centering pass from senior Sarah Bagley (North Andover, Mass.) and sent it into the cage on her team's first shot attempt of the contest.

Just under five minutes later, junior Avery Tucker (Westbrook, Maine) drove the ball towards the goal from near the circle. Archambault, from near the post, got her stick on it and redirected it into the cage for her third of the season.

Sophomore Mackenzie McConnell (Concord Township, Maine) made six saves for the Hawks (5-2, 3-1 NE10) while junior Madison Clark (Natick, Mass./Natick HS) stopped two for Bentley.

Bentley outshot the nationally-ranked Hawks 13-4, including 6-0 in the second quarter, and had twice as many penalty corners, 8-4.

The Falcons (5-4, 2-2 NE10) return to action Saturday afternoon at Adelphi University.
