Play 4 the Cure & Senior Day on Tap for Bentley Field Hockey Saturday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University field hockey will honor its seniors and will also hold its annual "Play for 4 Cure" Day when the Falcons complete their regular season schedule Saturday morning at home against Assumption College (11 am).

Bentley is one of many field hockey programs across the country that is participating in the Play 4 the Cure campaign, which is aimed at raising awareness and money for breast cancer. October is the height of the field hockey playing season in the United States and it is also the month when the national spotlight shines on breast cancer awareness.

During the game, pink bracelets, t-shirts, baked goods and raffle tickets will be sold. Postgame, fans will be able to buy the opportunity to take a penalty stroke against Bentley's goalkeepers.

Those interested can also make a tax-deductible contribution at the game, or checks, made payable to Bentley University Field Hockey, can be mailed to Jessica Spencer, Field Hockey Coach, Bentley University, 175 Forest Street, Waltham, Mass. 02452. All proceeds will go to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.

This year's team features three seniors, all of whom have been starters for the Falcons: senior Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS), defender Tori Castro (Winchester/Winchester HS) and midfielder Tori Ellis (Madison, N.J./Madison HS).

Bentley will enter Saturday's game 7-10 overall and 5-6 in the Northeast-10.
