Rowe & Schaedel Receive Weekly Honors from Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Molly Rowe (Newburyport/Newburyport HS) and junior teammate Evelyn Schaedel (Burlington, Vt./Burlington HS) have both been recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their outstanding performance for the Falcon field hockey team last week.

Rowe was selected as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week and Schaedel was the choice for Goalkeeper of the Week recognition.

In a pair of 1-0 overtime games (one win, one loss), Rowe played every minute and led the defense by coming up with key tackles and outlets to get the offense started. She was also a key member of the Falcon corner defense which allowed only one goal, in OT at Assumption, on 19 opponent corners. The only goal allowed came on the 24th shot the team faced during the week.

Schaedel posted a 0.43 goals against average and totaled 12 saves as Bentley topped LIU Post, 1-0 in OT, and lost to Assumption by an identical score, also in OT. Her shutout skein surpassed 230 minutes and her ten saves at Assumption tied her career-best.

Bentley, 9-8, will play at Merrimack Tuesday at 4 pm in the opening round of the 2015 Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
