Boston Globe South: Catching up with Carolyn Cahill

Carolyn Cahill, a former All-America goalie for Bentley during the late 90's, has been a goalie coach for the Boston College field hockey team for a dozen years. John Johnson, a sports correspondent for the Boston Globe South, recently spoke to Carolyn for the paper's "Catching up" series. This appeared in the Oct. 18 edition of the paper and online at www.bostonglobe.com.

After a prolific field hockey career at Bentley University, and then two years as an assistant coach at Yale, Carolyn Cahill was ready to walk away from a game she loves for a job in real estate.

Her career took a fortuitous turn, however, when Yale coach Ainslee Lamb accepted the head coaching position at Boston College and invited her to join the Eagles staff as goalie coach. That was 12 years ago, and Cahill is still coaching goalies (now for first-year coach Kelly Doton). She's also selling real estate with Cahill Properties.
