Lirange, Howard & Talerman Earn Academic All-Northeast-10 Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS) has been named to the Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference field hockey team for the second straight year and was joined on the 20-player team by teammates Meghan Talerman (Centerville/Barnstable HS) and Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS).

Lirange, Bentley's leading scorer with 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points, was selected first-team All-Northeast-10 and a second-team Synapse Sports Division II All-America. The team captain and three-year starter had five game-winning goals this past season and has 23 goals and 56 points for her career.

Lirange, who has made the President's List every semester, has earned a sparkling 3.88 grade point average while majoring in accountancy and liberal studies.

Talerman, a two-year starter, was second to Lirange in scoring, finishing with nine goals and four assists for 22 points. Howard, a starter in 18 of 19 games in 2013 after being used off the bench as a freshman, helped out with a goal and an assist, in addition to aiding the Falcons' transition game.

Both Talerman and Howard have GPA's exceeding 3.6 with Talerman majoring in economics-finance and Howard in finance.

Bentley finished the 2013 season with an 11-8 overall record.
