After jumping out to 14-0 lead, Falcons fall at St. Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Bentley football team opened the game with a 14-0 lead, but St. Anselm stormed back for a 24-17 win Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons needed just four offensive plays and 99 seconds to reach the end zone, as Mark Waid connected with Abel Lopes Jr. for a 62-yard score.

The Falcons carried a 7-0 lead into the second quarter. Two minutes into that period, Vinnie Holmes broke through for a 30-yard touchdown run. He finished the game with 88 rushing yards on 19 carries.

However, Bentley was held out of the end zone for the rest of the game. Mason Campbell connected on a 22-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

Bentley returns home for the first time in four weeks when it hosts Pace, Oct. 14, during Falcon weekend.
