Hansbury Named 1st-Team Google Cloud Academic All-America®

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University captain and offensive lineman Jack Hansbury (Tyngsboro/Chelmsford HS) has been selected for the 2018 Google Cloud NCAA Division II Academic All-America ® football first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Hansbury is the fourth Bentley football player to earn Academic All-America honors in the last four seasons, joining Paul Norris (2015), Bryan Hardy (2016) and Sam McDonald (2016).

Hansbury played in every game during his four seasons with the Falcons, including 34 as a starter. He started every game the last three years and saw action at three different positions during his career.

A semifinalist for the National Football Foundation's prestigious Campbell Trophy, Hansbury has twice been selected Academic All-Northeast-10, with the 2018 team still to be announced.

The six-foot-three, 290-pound offensive tackle excelled in the classroom throughout his time at Bentley and has also been involved in a number of community service activities. A corporate finance and accounting major with a minor in computer information systems, he's achieved an outstanding 3.94 grade point average.

Bentley student-athletes have earned a total of 78 Academic All-America awards all-time, tied for the 13th most among Division II institutions.
