WALTHAM, Mass. – The honors continue for Bentley University junior strong safety Nick Athy (Holliston/Holliston HS) in recognition of his efforts in the Falcons' 40-21 Homecoming win over then-No. 9 LIU Post.

The latest comes from d2football.com which selected him as their National Defensive Player of the Week.

That comes on the heels of Athy being recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference and the recipient of the College Gold Helmet from the New England Football Writers and Grinold/New England Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Athy was involved in five of Bentley's six takeaways in the contest and also credited with eight tackles. Against the Pioneers, who had only one turnover in their first three games, he intercepted two passes, recovered two fumbles and forced yet another fumble.

Bentley, 3-1 overall and 3-0 NE10, will play at Pace University Saturday at noon.
