Thorbahn Named Both Defensive Player and Rookie of Week in Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – As a result of his standout play Saturday, Bentley University freshman cornerback Peter Thorbahn (Norwell/Xaverian Bros. HS) has been recognized as both the Defensive Player of the Week and the Rookie of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

It's the second time that Thorbahn has received rookie accolades and the second straight week that a Falcon student-athlete has been recognized as the conference's top defensive player.

Thorbahn was all over the field in a 27-7 win over Stonehill as he made a career-high 13 tackles, including 11 solo stops, and a pair of pass break-ups. Bentley kept the Skyhawks to 272 total yards and limited Division II's leading receiver to two catches for eight yards.

For the season, Thorbahn ranks fifth in Division II in passes defended (2.1 per game) and is tied for second in the conference in interceptions with a team-best four.

Also recognized by the conference this week, with selection to the Weekly Honor Roll, was Falcon junior quarterback Mack Lowrie (Foxborough/Roxbury Latin School). He threw three TD passes, including two to former high school teammate Sean Myers (Foxborough/Roxbury Latin School), while completing nine of 15 for 125 yards in a 27-77 win over Stonehill. The touchdowns covered 27, 6 and 4 yards.

Bentley, 5-3, will play its next two games on the road, at Southern Connecticut this Saturday and at New Haven Nov. 5.
